Mack Keith Henry, age 84, of Oblong, IL., passed away Monday, December 23, 2013 at 7:01 p.m. EST at Good Samaritan Hospital, Vincennes, IN.
He was born in Oblong Township, Crawford County, on January 11, 1929 to Elmer and Bernice (Snyder) Henry. Mack worked at his Dad’s poultry and feed house and farmed; worked in the grocery business for 40 years; and employed at Inboden/Sherwood Seeds. He was a member of the OHS Class of 1946; Mound Community Church; active in the Oblong Food Pantry for many years; also active for many years in the Oblong Church Cluster. Mack enjoyed gardening, woodworking, reading, jig saw puzzles and Sudoku puzzles.
On March 28, 1948 he married Carolyn (LeFever) Henry and she survives. Other survivors include two sons and daughters-in-laws: Ron and Bette Henry, Sullivan, IN.; Greg and Brenda Henry, Oblong, IL.; two daughters and sons-in-laws Peg and Tommy McLane, Mattoon, IL.; and Barb and Bill Hill, Oblong, IL.; 10 grandchildren: Cheryl McDaniel, Christina and Johnnie Murphy, Missy Henry, Chris and Dee Weber, Chad Weber and fiance’ Jillian Croy, Joshua and Stephanie Henry, Rob and Judilee Henry, Mark and Cassie Hill, Jeremy and Michelle Hill; Michelle and Kerrick Cook; 22 great-grandchidlren; 6 great-great-grandchildren; two brothers and sisters-in-laws Richard and Barb Henry, Shelburn, IN and Clair and Susie Henry, Monticello, IL; four sisters and a brother-in-law Patty Hanna, Oblong, IL, Eileen Randolph, Portage, IN; Sue Shoemaker, Leakey, TX. and Judy and Jim Mann, Flora, IL; a sister-in-law Alma LeFever and several nieces and nephews.
Mack was preceded in death by his grandparents; parents; grandson Brad Foss; sister, Norma Hnery; brothers Jimmie, Roger and Bruce Henry.
